The Year's Best Science Fiction: Twenty-Seventh Annual Collection, edited by Gardner Dozois, is now available. This is the most prestigious of “year’s best” series in science fiction, and this volume contains my story “Under the Shouting Sky.”
Mr. Dozois writes, “The gripping story that follows, ‘Under the Shouting Sky,’ won him the first Robert A. Heinlein Centennial Short Story Contest, a very appropriate choice, since it’s not hard to see Heinlein himself having written this.”
I’m not the biggest fan of Heinlein, but he did occasionally get some things mostly right :-), so I’ll take that as a complement.
