The Year's Best Science Fiction: Thirty Second Annual Collection, edited by Gardner Dozois, is now available. This volume contains my story “The Woman from the Ocean,” and marks my third appearance in Dozois’ Year’s Best anthology, and the second consecutive year a story of mine has been selected for the series.
And I see that my last update to this blog was one year ago, noting the release of the previous Year’s Best. So clearly my dismally slow rate of output has remained well, dismal. But I’m not completely stalled; I’ll be updating this blog again in just a few days, when the August 2015 Asimov’s is released.
As for “The Woman from the Ocean,” it’s a story that I’m rather fond of. I think it does a good job of combining a human story with an interesting and original SF idea.
Also in Year’s Best #32, Mr. Dozois includes my story “Ashes” in his “Honorable Mention” section.
