More often than not, I wouldn’t have a good answer if someone were to ask me where I got the idea for a story. This one is an exception, however.
A long time ago I used to be a sculptor, and I still have some of my pieces sitting on top of bookcases in my house. One day my wife asked me if I’ve ever thought about writing a story around one of my sculptures.
“Huh,” I said, as one does when presented with a glaringly obvious idea that one for some reason has never thought of on one’s own.
